The BrightFest 24 Line Up.
22:00 - 23:00
DJ Giles
After last year’s success, BrightFest’s headliner is once again a DJ! Our 2024 closing act will be Brightwell-cum-Sotwell's very own DJ, Giles Whitehead, who will be playing and mixing his vinyl records, without digital trickery, exactly as it should be done!
21:00 - 21:45
The Faith Healers
Oxford-ish based three-piece band, playing rock, funk, soul and blues covers and some original tunes.
20:00 - 20:45
INXS GB
Get ready to be transported back in time to the electrifying era of rock 'n' roll as "INXS GB" pays homage to the legendary Australian band, INXS. Brace yourself for a night of pulsating rhythms, soaring vocals, and infectious energy that will have you dancing the night away to the iconic "Need You Tonight", "Never Tear Us Apart" and crowd-favorites "New Sensation" and "Devil Inside".
19:00 - 19:45
Nineteenth Hour
Returning to BrightFest for the third time in a row!
Influenced by Nothing But Thieves, Oasis, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes and Arctic Monkeys, Nineteenth Hour combine nuanced guitar layers and calescent vocals to build tension and elation. Expect to hear songs of heartache, heart breaks and headaches!
18:00 - 18:45
Cutwater
Classic line-up of electric guitars, bass and drums playing original songs with influences ranging from shuffling 70s boogie, through Americana to country rock. Cutwater is a band that loves the sound of their instruments: the Gibson 335 through the Lazy J, the vintage Tele through a Cornell, the '82 Precision Bass through an Ampeg, the Ludwig drums.
Playing together in a room, when recording, using minimal overdubs and striving to capture the sound they make, Cutwater thrives on what happens when they play together: the intuitive performance that creates the alchemy of harmonics and overtones with which the songs are adorned.
17:00 - 17:45
Colossapus
Four guys, eight legs. A powerhouse of catchy riffs, filthy guitars, thumping drums and a driving bass. Delivering their original material for your pleasure. Prepare to be Collossasized!
16:45 - 17:00
Julie and her dancers from BellyFire School of Bellydance are back for a special performance!
16:15 - 16:45
Tug of War
The annual Tug of War competition between Brightwell and Sotwell. Who will be the 2024 winners?
15:30 - 16:15
JukeBox JunkYard
Five reprobates and a saxophonist brought their musical prowess and experience together to create the jukebox junkyard, covering all genres of music from the 50s to the present day. Whatever you fancy; Rock, Pop, Dance, Hip-Hop, Funk, Punk, you want it, they play it!
14:30 - 15:15
I.C. & The Drones
A Folk Fusion band, playing old and modern folk songs with a rock / jazz groove feel to them, something a little different to blues and rock covers you often find at festivals. Their set includes songs by The Waterboys, Richard Thompson, Tracy Chapman, Donovan, Steeleye Span, Show of Hands and many more including a couple of rocked up Sea Shanties.
13:45 - 14:15
The Soul Paradox
The Soul Paradox is what you get when you pull together players from many different backgrounds to see what happens - witness the debut performance of this brand-new band from Brightwell-cum-Sotwell with their own interpretations of songs by The Cranberries, The Cardigans and First Aid Kit, to name but a few. Featuring Maddy on piano and vocals, Sally on violin and vocals, Matt on guitar, Ollie on drums and Werner on bass.
